About 2,800 HGU students, or 85 percent of the total student population, took part in the tournament. Before starting the game, some universities provided the Web page of http://www.toeic.gamenara.empas.com on their official homepages and opened their computer labs for free all night long. The schools gave students night snacks and offered scholarships to those who achieve the highest scores.

"It was a good opportunity for our university to show its capacity as a global university because we won the best prize for the second consecutive year in the contest of English proficiency. I am very proud of my students who won the grand prize against other national universities, competing in a fair manner with solidarity," HGU president Kim Young-gil said.
