Escuchan por favor ...
"Nina Cochran, left, and Amanda Jaiman using iPods during a Spanish class at the Brearley School in Manhattan, where the devices are required in grades 7 through 12. For Molly Battles, above, the device has become a computer lab staple." (New York Times Photo, )
The article goes on to detail the use of the iPod to enhance the laguage program at Brearley. The iPod is used to record student journals, share them in class, download and store practice material, and include current content such as pop song lyrics, etc.
As an example of the type of curriculum change that brings it about, the article points out that the project was initiated by a student! "The iPod initiative at Brearley began as a gift from last year's graduating class. Bicky David, a graduate who led the effort, said she was inspired to improve the school's foreign-language equipment after a summer studying in France. Speaking of the iPod program, David said in a telephone interview from Harvard, where she is now a freshman, that she 'was kind of disappointed that there was nothing here like it.'"
